Step 1.2: Confirm If You Have a Rod or Track

Rod

Rod

If You Already Have a Rod:

  • Measure the full rod length.
  • Record the measurement.

If You Don’t Have a Rod:

Height:

  • Ceilings under 10 ft: Mount 3–5" below ceiling for a taller look.
  • Ceilings over 10 ft: Keep within 18" above window for balance.

Length:

  • Extend 6–15" beyond each side for stack space and balance.

Track

Track

If You Already Have a Track:

  • Measure the full track length.

If You Don’t Have a Track:

Height:

  • Install close to the ceiling, leaving clearance for hardware.

Length:

  • Extend 6–15" beyond each side for stack space and balance.
  • For large windows, consider wall-to-wall for a seamless look.

Step 2 Take Your Measurements

Step 2.1: Single Panel Order Width

Order Width by Panel Count

Single Panel Curtains

  • Single Panel Order Width = full rod length
  • Covers the entire rod when pulled across to fully block light.

Split Panel Curtains

  • Single Panel Order Width = half the rod length
  • Two panels, each covering half the rod, meet in the center to fully block light.

For Extra-Long Curtains

For Extra-Long Curtains

If your extra-long drapery is only for decorative use (not for full coverage or blackout):

  • Decide your desired stack width — the width you want the panels to cover when closed.
  • Use the chart to find the corresponding Single Panel Order Width.

Fullness Style

Fullness Style

Fullness refers to how much fabric is used compared to your curtain’s finished width — it affects how rich and gathered your drapes look.

  • Pleated Headers — We default to a fullness of 2× for a balanced, tailored look.
  • Grommet & Soft Top — You can select your preferred fullness on the product page.
  • Custom Requests — If you’d like a different fullness, email us at care@cozyology.com — we’ll be happy to assist.
